These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of timeuntil.today and any related features (the "Service"), operated by Sulaiman Alsinawi ("we", "us"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. The Service is anonymous-first: most features work without an account. When we refer to "you" we mean both signed-in users and anonymous visitors creating, viewing, or interacting with content.
You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the European Union) to use the Service. By using it you represent that you meet this age requirement and that, if you are between the age of majority and these minimums in your country, you have permission from a parent or legal guardian. If we learn we have collected data from someone under these ages we will delete it. Email support@lvlup.om to report a violation.
Anonymous use creates a stable random account ID via Firebase Authentication. You may upgrade to a Google-linked account at any time. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account, including any content you post. You may delete your account at any time from your dashboard. Deletion permanently removes your account record, every countdown you created, every comment you posted, and your follow relationships. See our Privacy Policy for details.
You may use the Service to create countdowns, share links, comment, react, and follow events. You may use the public embed code on your own site for any lawful purpose. You may NOT, without limitation: • Post content that is unlawful, defamatory, threatening, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit, or that depicts or promotes violence. • Infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights of others, including by uploading copyrighted images you do not have rights to. • Use the Service to send spam, run scams, phish, distribute malware, or facilitate illegal activity. • Attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer, scrape at abusive rates, or circumvent any security measure (App Check, rate limits, Firestore rules). • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation. • Use automated means (bots, scripts) to create events, comments, or reactions, except through documented public APIs and within their published rate limits. • Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service or its contents without our written permission.
You retain ownership of any text, image, or other content you submit ("User Content"). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, distribute, and create derivative works of your User Content solely to operate, improve, and promote the Service — for example, rendering your public countdown on its event page, in /trending, /browse, /llms.txt, and in shared social previews. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except as required for legal compliance or as it may persist in routine system backups for up to 30 days. Cached copies on third-party platforms (Google, Slack, social sites) are outside our control. You represent that you have all necessary rights in any User Content you submit and that it does not violate Section 3.
We may, at our sole discretion and without prior notice, remove any User Content, suspend or terminate accounts, hide comments, or refuse access to the Service for any reason — including violations of these Terms, legal compulsion, or anything we judge harmful to other users. Visitors can report stale dates or abusive content using the report buttons on event pages. We aim to review reports within 72 hours but make no guarantee.
The Service uses third-party providers including Google (Firebase, Cloud, Analytics), Resend (email), reCAPTCHA (anti-abuse), Anthropic (machine translation of seeded events), and public APIs for seeded content (Hebcal, Aladhan, Nager.Date, SpaceX, NASA, Wikipedia, TheSportsDB, Ticketmaster). Their availability is outside our control. DMCA / copyright claims: if you believe content on the Service infringes your copyright, send a notice to support@lvlup.om including: (a) identification of the work, (b) the URL of the infringing content, (c) your contact info, (d) a statement of good-faith belief, (e) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are authorised, and (f) your physical or electronic signature. We respond to valid notices within 10 business days.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY OF SEEDED EVENT DATES. Seeded events (religious holidays, sports fixtures, public holidays, astronomical events, concerts) are sourced from public APIs and may shift, be cancelled, or contain errors. We do not warrant the accuracy or timeliness of any countdown. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICE, WHETHER BASED ON CONTRACT, TORT (INCLUDING NEGLIGENCE), STRICT LIABILITY, OR ANY OTHER LEGAL THEORY, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED USD $50. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages; in those jurisdictions our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Sulaiman Alsinawi and any agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your User Content, (b) your use of the Service, (c) your violation of these Terms, or (d) your violation of any third-party right.
Changes: we may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via a re-prompt of the cookie banner or a notice on the home page. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance. Governing law: these Terms are governed by the laws of the Sultanate of Oman, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. You agree that any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of Muscat, Oman, except where applicable consumer-protection law grants you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence. Severability: if any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remainder stays in effect. No waiver: our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver.
